Straight Up SolGier Foundation was started by the McGuirk Family after their son Matt was sexually abused by his school teacher at the age of 8. After years of dealing with his demons from the abuse, Matt started to experiment with drugs and accidently overdosed in 2011. Prior to Matt passing away he designed the SolGier logo spelling "SolGier" with a capital "G" for God as it is pointing straight up. The McGuirk Family wanted to be able to provide counseling and help victims of sexual abuse in Volusia and Flagler Counties.
